Overview

Sound Plot is Centre 42's audio play series exploring the layered identities of Singapore through place-based storytelling. This collection brings together original audio plays written in response to the overlooked corners of our island - Jurong West, Tanjong Pagar, Pasir Panjang, and Waterloo Street - and launches a brand new audio play written by Centre 42's Writer-in-Residence, Nabilah Said

Intimate, strange, and richly imaginative, Sound Plot invites listeners to tune into the hidden frequencies of Singapore's past, present, and possible futures.

From 22 August to 6 September, plug in to our audio plays at four listening booths situated around the Stamford Arts Centre! Listening booths will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, between 7PM - 10PM.

This edition of Sound Plot is presented by Centre 42 as part of Waterloo Street Stories and Listening Biennial 2025, for the Singapore Night Festival.

We kicked off the first week of the Singapore Night Festival with a large, diverse crowd at Stamford Arts Centre! Curious members of the public dropped into our listening booths and discovered audio plays from our past editions of Sound Plot.

Playwright Nabilah herself dropped by to listen to The Session on-site - we're excited for many more people to find their way to our listening booths and experience the audio play for themselves!
